HW Audio nominated for a Bexley Business Excellency Award
The sixth annual Bexley Business Excellence Awards will take place at the end of June, and their announced shortlist includes HW Audio up for a gong!
Nominated for the Tech Innovation Award, HW Audio’s 3D Printed In-Ear Monitorswith their revolutionary GOVNOR valve are recognised as a real development in their field, and stand up against competition from firms such as New Horizons POS Systems, Plum Innovations and TDH Media.
The awards ceremony will take place with a black tie event, gala dinner and full presentation on the 27th June at Hall Place & Gardens, Bexley, and will celebrate the best of the Borough’s business people, developments and experiences. Sponsored by Ocado, the awards help to promote the achievements of those throughout Bexley and highlight the talent found in the area.
The GOVNOR valve created for and now incorporated within HW Audio’s 3D printed custom IEMs is seen as innovative as it takes a wholly new approach to balancing in-ear pressure for those using monitors for audio feedback and protection. Venting the monitors perfectly to avoid a build-up of harmful pressure whilst maintaining the perfect seal against noise and vibrations by allowing the pressure to build and regulating it with proportional control. Inspired by James Watt’s steam engine cylinders from the 19th century, this is a fantastic modern twist on an old invention; adapting and updating it to the times.
Following the initial award nomination, each shortlisted finalist is then invited to a Judging Day where they’re interviewed in depth by the Judging Panel, who use this information along with the data they already have to make a decision on the winner. The winners will be announced at the final ceremony.
Previous winners of the Tech categories at the Bexley Business Excellency Awards include Handy Audio-Visual, who went on to win the overall Business of the Year Award in 2017, and New Horizon POS Systems, who have made the shortlist again this year. The stakes are high and the competition tough, and HW Audio are thrilled to be included amongst the contenders. This year’s Tech Innovation Award is sponsored by Peabody, who are investing over £1bn into Thamesmead development over the next ten years.
Lewie Winters, HW Audio CEO, said of the nomination: “It’s great for HW Audio to be recognised for our hard work and business development in this way by the Borough of Bexley. The development and journey to create the GOVNOR valve to fit within our 3D printed custom IEMs has been a long one, but the results are all worth it and we are confident that this product is second-to-none. I look forward to the awards ceremony… and am keeping my fingers crossed!”Tickets have now sold out for the Bexley Business Excellence Awards, but we will keep customers updated on our progress and how the night goes.
