HW Audio wins Tech Innovation of the Year Award at the Bexley Business Excellence Awards

Following a black tie awards ceremony at Hall Place & Gardens on Wednesday 27th June, HW Audio have been crowned the winners of the Tech Innovation of the Year Award 2018!

The Bexley Business Excellence Awards celebrate and promote the achievements of individuals and businesses throughout the Borough. This was the sixth iteration of the awards and one of the toughest yet, with 12 industry-specific categories up for grabs as well as an overall Business of the Year gong.

HW Audio won Tech Innovation of the Year specifically for their 3D printed In-Ear Monitors with the new GOVNOR valve included. Unlike traditional IEMs, the GOVNOR valve manages both in-ear pressure build up and allows it to release safely whilst maintaining the perfect sound seal in place. Based on the 19th century steam engine valve invention by British inventor James Watt, this engineered solution uses pressure build-up to its advantage with proportional control; and allows HW Audio’s IEMs to offer a sound quality and protection level unrivalled by any other product. The judges appreciated the modern twist on a pre-existing invention and this was lauded. Combined with 3D printing, HW Audio’s IEMs are truly unbeatable.

The shortlist for the Tech Innovation of the Year Award was tough, and more businesses than ever before made the final cut. A good mix of firms were included, such as New Horizon Systems, a POS producer; Plum Innovations, an IT service provider; Taylor Technology, a security and CCTV specialists; TDH Media, photographers and videographers; and Teachers On Demand, and education placement agency.

Each business shortlisted from the initial nomination process then went through to be interviewed and grilled by the judging panel at a Judging Day. Combining all of the information they had from both of these processes, the judges agreed on their winner – and it was this that was then announced at the ceremony… with HW Audio scooping the prize!

If this win has peaked your interest in custom In-Ear Monitors, then speak to the HW Audio team for more info. You can either attend an Audiologist to have impressions of your inner ear taken and then send these to us (by post or email) for custom mould creation, or visit the HW Audio HQ for a chat and impressions to be taken directly by us. The data from these impressions are then scanned into the 3D printer and exact copies made; sometimes in as little as 2-hours! We ship IEMs worldwide and can advise you on fits, uses and different types of monitors as well as their advantages above more traditional wearables such as wedges.
